D.Q.N.S.P. (Di Qui Non Si Passa)
What is an exercise in futility
if not the stubborn strategy
the relentless sacrifice of men
in the havoc of a lost war
The 10th of June
a bad omen
the appearance of the fog
On the barren rock of Ortigara
the first died of miscalculation
a friendly fire and some unsettled bombs
The rest succumbed in countless charges
as the spirits of the ever stoutly soldiers
nonetheless crumbled
Relentless sacrifice of men
on Ortigara
Relentless sacrifice of men
on Ortigara
We hardly conquered
just to lose thereafter
weak strongholds
of a courageous army
led by a baffled brain
The dry soil bathed in the blood
of twenty-five thousand men
fruitlessly massacred
Your enemies long gone
the mountain remains, rid of clamour
a cropped column to
remind of thine deaths

Dolomia

Dolomia
Sisyphus’ punishment
Endless task imposed on us
To break nature shield, to wound the mountain,
hands and spirits.
Lay the dynamite, make the rocks quiver and collapse
Our destiny bound with destruction,
Unsatisfied, belligerent, we tear the soil from within.
We heard, its heartbeat, its silent breath, the point reached.
Usurping the beloved land, a toll we were eager to pay.
Unsatisfied, belligerent, we teared the soil from within.
In darkness we struggled, in darkness we rest.
The ones who crawled below suffered a greater punishments
as Dolomia took its vengeance.

Conturina
The ambush took your comrades
Roaming in the forest
The clamor still in your ears
Yet the cold already started to bite
Faint and gentle, an ancient melody was sung
Intimate voice of a woman
How beautiful!
Shaking behind a tree, you glazed at her
Sitting on the rock,
Dreamy eyes, dreaming heart
Without control of your body you came forward
She laid a hand on your cheek, cold as a stone!
“Poor creature, for long evil has dwelled here
It moved my malefactor
You are but a puppet in its hand”
Sorrow, and closeness,
Her eyes impressed onto you
As the bullet struck.
Sorrow, and closeness,
Her eyes impressed onto you
As the bullet struck
“For long evil has dwelled in the mountain
It moved my malefactor
chiseled me into the stone
and now, you are but a puppet in its hand”

Beneath the shadows of the three mighty peaks
Drafted, an abrupt end to a slow, dull life.
“Be a hero, serve our great country, become immortal”
Trained to kill and to be killed,
sent to the mighty peaks.
Summer slowly fading away,
the mountain welcomes the soldiers.
Months passing one after the other,
time flies when you're trying to survive.
Memories emerge
as the landscape glazes coldy at you.
Glazes coldy.
Time flies when you're trying to survive.
Eyes of a mother;
The father’s rare gestures of affection; Her head on your chest.
At night, the wildlife murmurs.
The first life reminisced as an ethereal dream,
the second ever so real, sculpting your bones.
Eyes of a mother;
The father’s rare gestures of affection; Her. She was so young.

The great white war

The Great White War
1916, the Great Winter fell
Raging storms wiped away the stains
The mountain shall not be disturbed
The eternal ice shall not be corrupted
Winds will rage free through the remains
Of the ones who fought and fell
Face down in the snow, there they lie
Soldiers of the Great White War!
Turned to nothingness, forever forgotten
Wrecked by the war, there they die
Hung to the cliffs, frost that bites
Feed on their will, there they fight
Soldiers of the Great White War!
Eternally one with the mountain

Winter Coffin
Cold and white,
left to die, once a comrade.
Hail to the claws of cold!
Hail to the claws of cold!
As they take the pain away,
Ol’ friend I invoke thee!
Stria!
Stria, dance for me.
Stria, avenge me.
Stria!
Stria, take the shape of pain.
Haunt them who left me alone,
follow who forgot me here.
When the winter passes,
visit their warm home in the night
and shut their fire down.
Stria!
Stria, dance fo me.
Stria, avenge me.
Stria, take the pain.
Hail to the claws of cold...
‘cause they make me dull.
Hail to the claws of cold!

Awaken
Ants, swarming and carving the ice
Storaging food and weapons
Casting fire from a frozen hell
Our blood, our bodies burning
The blood has been poured on this sacred soil
The mount violated
In silence we call
We call the purge of all our enemies
Call the Giant of the Glacier
“Awake!
Awake!
Awake and annihilate!”
Suffocated and smashed
In the depth of the mountain
The destiny of our enemies, natural tomb for their corpses
“Awake!
Awake!
Awake Giant of the Glacier!”

Ignoto Militi
Brothers with no face
Comrades with no name
Wander these lands
Haunting
Frozen remains
Lost in the dark
Seeking for peace
Nameless
Eternal dusk
Awaiting a night
A sun that won’t rise
Peaceless
Standing alone
A frozen limbo
Chained between life
and death
As dusk fell, we came across a village fete.
Laughters and joy, such was our gift.
Without remembrance nor place to rest
we’ll haunt these forests.
The woods will call, younglings be gone
This is the price you’ll pay
Tormented sleep, dried fruits of wombs.
Rest in
An Urn
Of Stone
Ignoto Militi
Wear your Laurel Crown
Rest

The ascent

|

The Ascent
Higher, Higher!
Only one command to follow:
Higher, to their nest
I hold my load of death
The clouds are a loyal ally
Cover their eyes while I
Ascend beneath them
I bring the thunder and flash
Bringer of death for enemies
I bring the thunder
From beneath where they’ll never expect
Climbing higher
Breathing thinner
I consider no chance of falling
Hands of stone
I consider no chance of failing
Hands of ice
The eagles, high in the nest are awake
The birds of prey spot something in the dark, and the hunter becomes a prey.
